Kids and Youth Teams

Where else can you spend a week with some of the most enthusiastic people you'll ever meet?

At New Wine we're passionate about seeing children meet with God. At United we have groups for children of all ages. Serving on team in one of the children's venues is a rewarding, energising and fun way of giving back - and you'll see God do some amazing things along the way.

What will I be doing?

In all kids teams you'll befriend, lead and encourage the children, get alongside them in small groups, pray with and for them, minister to them in the power of the Spirit and encourage them to pray for each other. You'll serve as a small group leader, either on your own or paired up with another team member. Some teams also need activity leaders who organise, prepare and supervise drama, games or craft, and assist with the practical needs of the team while not being directly responsible for a group of children.

What will my day look like?

Your day will start with a time of team prayer and preparation. Some teams have informal activities in the afternoon (e.g. games, sports or water fights) and some teams have a meeting for prayer and preparation in the afternoon. The time is rewarding, and needs energy and commitment.

Do I need any qualifications?

You will need to be a Christian with an active, living faith, a heart for children and regular attendance at a church/fellowship.

Can I work with children with additional needs?

There are opportunities to work with children who have additional needs in the children’s venues as a part of the Our Place team. You would attend all team training and wear the t-shirt of the venue you're in, but would be there to support children with additional needs. Apply to the Our Place team and tell us your preferred venue.

Club One

As part of the Club One team, you'll serve as small group leaders either on your own or paired up with another team member helping with activities, facilitating discussions and praying with young people. (12-13 year-olds), Club One has two main meetings per day.  There will be:

  •     Seminar-format sessions.
  •     Activity teams. (Flava cafe, NGage, Sports and The Vibe)
  •     Time to share the gospel, pray for and minister to the young people in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The day starts with a time of team prayer and preparation for the day’s activities. The time is rewarding and needs energy and commitment. You need to be 16 years or over to apply, a Christian with an active, living faith, a heart for young people and regular attendance at a church/fellowship.

Young team: limited young team places (16 years) are available.

Approximate working hours: 8am-1pm and 6-9:30pm with an extra 2 hours in either the afternoon or evening, preparing or clearing up.

The Flava cafe includes giant Jenga, table football, air hockey, dance mats and fantastic exotic smoothies. Team members will serve food and drinks, and mix with the Thirst crowd. It's a great place to serve and meet lots of people. You must be 16 years or over to apply.

The NGage team is for adults only. This team makes contact with the youth on site who are not taking part in the event programme, particularly the main meetings. The aim is to build relationships, introducing and/or sharing the gospel in an appropriate way and encouraging them to attend the activities. The time involves being out on-site, looking for and meeting up with young people who are not part of the Youth venue wherever they are – at a favourite hangout or their camping village.

The Sports team is for adults only and provides a full sports programme in the afternoons for all age groups. Tasks include organising activities, manning the sports desk and responding to delegates’ enquiries, teaching, coaching, refereeing, co-ordinating and supervising all the players – children, youth and adults – who are taking part in the sports activities. Experience in refereeing and/or a First Aid qualification is preferable but not essential.

The Vibe team is for 16 year-olds and above. The role involves serving refreshments to, and building relationships with, young people in the venue. You'll be required to take responsibility for venue security, maintaining venue appearance, handling money and stock, and ensuring that the recycling policy works.
